Grama Vikasa is a project under “Loka Seva Prathisthana”. Loka Seva Prathisthana (LSP) is a registered charitable trust based in Bengaluru and has been working in villages since 2011 to create awareness about the burning issues of rural area and aiding the villages to find solutions locally. Our objective is to bring about qualitative changes in the way villagers think and live for a better future.
A self-sustainable, comprehensive, program planned and executed by the villagers, for the villagers aimed at bringing qualitative changes in rural education, health, culture, economy, security and social harmony, resulting in a Model Village and a Powerful Nation.
Enabling villages to plan and execute sustainable programs to bring about qualitative changes in education, health, economy, environment and culture thereby promoting social harmony.
Our entry point to a village is through education and then expand to other areas. We provide help with basic education and at the same time lay emphasis on culture and values in the learning centers that we run. We call these learning centers (Kalika Kendra)
Education, Health, Self-Reliance, Environment, Culture, Social Security and Social harmony are the key factors around which our activities are focused.
Is a learning center for inculcating value systems in students along with teaching subjects as per the school syllabus.

Has resulted in better performance in schools. Parents and teachers have found the students from these centers more committed , disciplined and better informed. Focus is on human value systems, environment, agriculture, patriotism, discipline, national heritage
Our nation has innumerable games which kept t h e r u r a I masses enthusiastic and energetic for ages. This is an effort to bring back these traditional games, introduce them to present generation and engage entire village in this event at least once in a year.
A weekend program for village children where different games and techniques are used to bring out their best mental and physical development. It is a good program to spot and nurture hidden talents.
As a part of “Atma Nirbhar Bharat” trainings in tailoring , beautician, motor winding, computer, accounting, food, preparing Cow based products, domestic equipment repair, Fabrication, mobile servicing, grafting are imparted to rural women and youth in 22 taluks. This should empower rural people during this difficult time .
Spoken Sanskrit classes conducted at the village level for students, youth and women.
Create awareness on Shuddha, savayava, samruddha, swadeshi, food.
Introduce and provide guidance to Organic Farming for a healthy Environment and healthy life.
We conduct seminars in villages through experts and create awareness on the most threatening problems of water pollution and scarcity
Traditional Medicines: Seminars are conducted in villages wherein traditional practices as well as the various locally available herbs and medicinal plants are introduced as an alternative form of medicine
Movements like plastic free village, community forests, mass tree planting, cleaning and preserving water sources etc. are introduced and encouraged.
A weekly guided program for women in the village with focus on physical education, home remedies and cultural values. Awareness about cleanliness and hygiene is also provided
A program conducted in villages on full moon day (poornime) where village women irrespective of caste or creed assemble and light lamps praying for the welfare of the village, there by bringing about social harmony In addition, workshops on traditional rural Janapada art, benefits of native cow breeding and its protection, Paramparika vaidya - (Traditional Medicines) and women empowerment are also conducted.
Participants are farmers, students, resource persons, artisans, women, and village elders
Experts on Organic farming, herbal medicine, cow and its products, environmental science, water conservation, Career counselling are invited to the program
Experts talk to villagers on various subjects
IT provides a platform to discuss , to identify and solve the issues /problems faced in the village
Motivates villagers to volunteer for village development.

The villagers organise a program to recognize and felicitate the elders who have served the village right from the Nati vaidya, plumber, sweeper, temple purohit, carpenter, farmer, to woman who take care of delivery and child care in villages.
